Román has invited the founder of Podemos, Pablo Iglesias, and the Minister of Equality, Irene Montero, to the bulls this Sunday, to his second commitment at the San Isidro Fair. They coincided last Thursday in the concert that Joaquín Sabina gave at the Wizink Center. The Valencian bullfighter, who cut off an ear in his first appearance at the San Isidro fair, approached the couple. "I had them next door. In the same row. We took a picture. Then I introduced myself as a bullfighter and told him that even if he was against my profession, I would love him to go to Las Ventas. And I invited him to come and see me and get to know bullfighting."

Pablo Iglesias listened to Roman. The concert was about to end. "We chatted for two minutes. He told me Sunday was the election and I couldn't go. So I insisted that we could go to the line together any other day. I told him that he was a normal person, that he was watching me, with his same musical tastes. I want to teach him bullfighting. Either in a tentadero or in the square. 'Let's go to Las Ventas together. Let me explain. And then you think,' I said. 'I would love to show you what bullfighting is. I do not want to debate. I want you to understand it from the point of view of a bullfighter. I gave him my Instagram and he promised to respond to me via Twitter and set a day." The conversation ended with the classic "we are in contact".

Roman has taken advantage of political campaign posters to promote Sunday afternoon. After curdling a bull montaraz de Montalvo, the fans of Las Ventas wait for the matador de toros de Valencia. His image appears in different montages of the posters of the different political parties that are presented to the municipal elections of Madrid. The city hosts this month the fair of San Isidro. Román Mayor uses the poster of Más Madrid. Momento Madrid does it with the iconography of José Luis Martínez Almeida, mayor and candidate for the City Council.

"People want to see me with a different bull than the first one. He had a lot of class. I felt that the second one could run me over at any time. He let go of his face a lot. I felt very, very surrendered. I tried not to get the crutch hooked. It was an afternoon that I gave everything. I was very involved," reflects Roman about his triumph. He was able to bury the sword a tremendous bull of Montalvo in a slaughter of blood and fire. "I feel very safe going in to kill. I still feel young. With honey on your lips. Something has to happen already in my career."

This Sunday he will make the paseíllo with Fernando Robleño and José Garrido. They will kill the bullfight of Adolfo Martín. Already in 2018, Roman gave a dimension of brave bullfighter in that San Isidro the afternoon he shared the bill with Roca Rey, the maximum figure of bullfighting. "I'm very excited about Sunday. I'm going to do my best. I hope to curdle a bull and bullfight well. I believe a lot in bullfighting. I'm not satisfied with the ear the other day. On the contrary, it motivates me."

Román, when not bullfighting, goes daily to his season ticket for laying 8 in Las Ventas. The first place in the world has seen him leave on his shoulders in 2017 with a bullfight of El Tajo and La Reina. And suffer the most serious gore of his career. "I feel comfortable here. I live in Madrid. I have a lot of respect for his fans. The truth is that he considers this square as mine."
