The draft of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries and others regarding hay fever countermeasures that the government is considering has been revealed. In 10 years, we will reduce the number of artificial cedar forests by about 2%, and aim to halve the amount of pollen generated in 30 years.

Regarding hay fever, which plagues many people, the government believes that it is necessary to effectively combine various measures, and in April this year established a new ministerial meeting to consider countermeasures.

Under these circumstances, the draft of hay fever countermeasures compiled by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries and others has been revealed.

As a measure against pollen sources, we aim to expand the area of artificial cedar forests from the current 5,7 hectares to 10,2 hectares per year, and to reduce the number of artificial cedar forests by about 10% in 9 years.

We are also working to utilize felled cedar wood, such as encouraging the conversion of wood used for housing and other facilities to cedar wood.

In addition, the government plans to replant cedar seedlings with low pollen and tree species other than cedar, and in 5 years, more than 30% of cedar sapling production will be pollen-free.

On the other hand, as a countermeasure against scattering, we will promote the improvement of chemicals and the development of spraying technology, and aim to put it into practical use in five years.

Through these efforts, the company aims to halve the amount of pollen generated in <> years.

The contents of these hay fever countermeasures are expected to be finalized among the government and the ruling parties and announced soon.
