The winners of the Cannes Film Festival will be unveiled this Saturday evening. A last big day, away from the eyes of the Croisette, awaits the jury of this 76th edition, which will debate to choose which films will be awarded and who will receive the coveted Palme d'Or.

There are 21 contenders, but only one of them will have the Palme d'Or. End clap this Saturday evening for the 76th Cannes Film Festival with the announcement of the winners and the screening of Pixar's latest feature film, Elemental. The jury will therefore meet during the day to decide on the winning films. A day held out of sight.

Prohibited communications with the outside world

8:30 a.m.: It's time for deliberations. Led by its president, the two-time award-winning filmmaker Ruben Östlund, the jury leaves the hotel, evening dress under their arms, to join a secret villa that changes every year, far from the tumult of the Croisette. No communication with the outside, mobile phones are confiscated until the evening. The debates can thus begin.

Ruben Östlund hopes for fiery deliberations, friction to award the seven prizes, including the famous Palme d'Or. A strict regulation, as for the Prix Goncourt, with several rounds and secret ballots. Once the prizes have been awarded, the jury informs the President of the Festival de Cannes, Iris Knobloch, and the General Delegate Thierry Frémaux, who themselves contact the winners without announcing the precise prize to invite them to the closing ceremony and thus collect their award.
