A true crime case that shocks: Jefferson Machado has been missing since January. Now the South American soap actor has been found dead. In a statement on Facebook, the family's lawyer confirmed the actor's death. According to several media outlets, including People Magazine, Machado was found buried in a chest in the backyard of a house in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
"It is with regret that I confirm the sad news of the passing of actor Jeff Machado, on whose body strangulation marks have been discovered," the lawyer said in a statement. He was identified by fingerprints.
Investigations against friend of the victim
According to the local media agency R7, the box in which the body of the 44-year-old was found was additionally coated with cement. According to information from the Daily Mail, nine people, including police officers, were needed to pull the chest out of the ground. The house, in the backyard of which Machado's body was found, was said to have been rented by a friend of the actor. This is currently being investigated.
Machado was last seen on January 27. At the beginning of February, his relatives reported him missing. Previously, his eight dogs were found alone.
