Stamps commemorating the 150th anniversary of the birth of Tochigi Prefecture will be sold at post offices in Tochigi Prefecture.

To commemorate the 150th anniversary of the birth of Tochigi Prefecture, frame stamps with photos of Nikko shrines and temples registered as World Heritage Sites and illustrations of strawberries, a specialty of Tochigi Prefecture, will be sold.

Local comedians from Tochigi, Kaoru Fukuda and Takuro Mashiko of U-shaped construction, are accompanied by comments that they are proud of their hometown.

At the presentation ceremony held at the prefectural government office on the 23rd, the two talked with familiar gags, such as "I'm sorry to think that this will be used all over the country, and I feel sorry, I'm sorry," which elicited laughter.

The frame stamps consist of 2 84-yen stamps on one sheet, and a total of 10,1 copies will be sold at post offices in the prefecture from the 26th of this month.

Shuichi Oshima, director of the Japan Post Tochigi Prefecture Chubu District Liaison Association, said, "I hope that commemorative stamps will travel around the country and convey the charm of Tochigi."

In addition, the two people involved in the U-shaped construction said, "There are also famous places that people in other prefectures don't know about, and I want to appeal to them in various places."
