In fact, a lot of work has been done to show the central axis, to show the central axis with images, and to show the central axis with television, but this is the first time that the central axis has been shown with the original work more than 100 years ago. You must have seen this image, but the one you see here is one of the earliest surviving photographic originals in Beijing, and this photograph of Jingshan is this. For example, that photograph (Temple of Heaven for the New Year) is one of the earliest color photographs of China that you can see today.

【Commentary】These precious historical images intuitively and vividly present the historical appearance of 12 heritage elements on the central axis of Beijing, including Zhengyang Gate, Yongding Gate, Temple of Heaven, Sheji Altar, Jingshan Mountain, etc., so that the audience can deeply understand the past and present of the central axis.

The picture you see now is a photograph taken in 1910 by John Janbrunn from the United States, standing in front of Tiananmen Square. Tiananmen Square underwent a simple renovation in 1949 in anticipation of the founding ceremony, and a complete renovation in 1952. Now we can clearly see what the Tiananmen Tower looked like before through the photos.

This photo was taken in 1924 by Tongsheng Photo Studio, located in the (core area) of Zhongshan Park (core area) of the altar, our people commonly call it "five-color soil", because it is covered with 5 colors of soil, it is the ancient emperor sacrifice to the shrine god and the god of millet, it is more rare, now (in the photo) this building is almost the same as the current building (maintaining the historical style), very well preserved.

【Commentary】More than 50 originals displayed in this exhibition are selected from tens of thousands of historical photos of Beijing's central axis. For the first time, these images are exhibited in the context of the "Beijing Central Axis". Zeng Juan believes that in addition to paying attention to images, it is also necessary to pay attention to the cultural connotation behind images.

It is an original work of art, an original of a cultural relic, so we can know who took this photo, what era it came from, what material they are, and it will bring out some stories behind a lot of images of culture, art and the relationship with society, Sino-foreign exchanges (etc.).

【Commentary】According to reports, this exhibition hopes to enrich the public's cultural cognition experience of the central axis, let more citizens and tourists understand the historical value and cultural connotation carried by the central axis of Beijing, and pay attention to and participate in the inheritance and protection of the cultural heritage of the central axis.
