The Empress and female members of the Imperial Family also attended the National Convention of the Japan Red Cross Society on the 18th.

The convention, held in Shibuya-ku, Tokyo, was attended by female members of the Imperial Family, including the Empress, who serves as the Honorary President of the Japan Red Cross Society, and Princess Noriko, Princess Akishino, Honorary Vice President.

After the Empress handed certificates of commendation to representatives of individuals and organizations that had made meritorious contributions to the activities of the Red Cross, a report was given on her activities, and Yui Yada of the Japan Red Cross Society, who was dispatched to Ukraine, talked about the opening of temporary evacuation centers and her experience of conducting traveling medical care in mountainous areas.

Next, Arisa Matsumoto of Chiba Prefectural Yotsukaido High School introduced activities such as donating food collected by calling on students to the Council of Social Welfare.

When the Empress and other members of the Imperial Family left the venue, they were spoken to by the two people who reported on their activities, as well as actor Moe Kamishiraishi, who serves as an ambassador for the Japan Red Cross Society.

Mr. Yada said, "The Empress said, 'It touched my heart, and I hope that the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine will end as soon as possible.'"

In addition, Mr. Matsumoto said, "The Empress said, 'I think it was difficult to continue our activities due to Corona, but I hope that the activities will expand.'"

Mr. Kamishiraishi said, "The Empress knew that I lived in Mexico and asked me, 'Do you still speak Spanish?'
