There is nothing more appetizing than a salseo. Nor anything more tender than a family picture. If the combination of both is added a catchy beat and the vocal signature of Shakira, it has all the guarantees to be a success.

Tonight the Colombian has released her new song, Acróstico, on all platforms there have been and to have. Like Cinderella, she breaks the spell and ends the mystique that has generated weeks of speculation around the theme of her next topic. The challenge now, as in his breakup trilogy (Te felicito, Monotonía and Sesión 53 with Bizarrap) and in the collaboration with Karol G in TQG, is to pick up the singer's glass slipper and discover the Easter eggs hidden in her ballroom.

Shakira and Bizarrap excite about Session 53 on Jimmy Fallon's show

"You taught me that love is not a scam
And that when it's real it doesn't end
I tried not to see me cry
Don't see my fragility"

With these verses begins the ballad dedicated to his children, Milan and Sasha, whose refrain repeats as follows:

"The only thing I want is your happiness and to be with you
A smile of yours is my weakness
Loving you serves as anesthesia to pain
Makes me feel better
For whatever you need I am You came to complete what I am
"

Shakira made a brief post Wednesday night on her social media to announce the imminent release of Acrostic. He shared an illustration of two baby birds leaving the nest next to his name and the name in the song.

In parallel, the Shakira Media account published what seems to be the official cover of the single, in which the name of the artist and the theme are written on a cardboard box of a move, from which a teddy bear stands out.

The magic of Twitter had made it possible to leak a fragment of the lyrics, dedicated to his children, Milan and Sasha, with whom he would also have recorded an emotional video clip during his last days at his home in Spain: "The only thing I want is your happiness / But things are not always as we dream, sometimes we run, but we didn't arrive / Never doubt that I'm going to be here." These lines already appeared in one of Shakira's Instagram stories when the coliombiana artist left Barcelona.

Shakira's career has gone through different phases in recent years, with ups and downs in the quality of her songs, although not so much in the popularity of the artist herself. Since her break with Gerard Piqué, the star has found in revenge a niche market – for many questionable and, for others, empowering – because, as she says in the hit with Bizarrap, "women no longer cry, women bill". And it has billed, yes: almost 30 million euros for a song that, within 10 hours of its release, accumulated 27 million views and was number 1 in the music trends of YouTube internationally.

After the grudge, mourning, jealousy and acceptance, the goal of monetizing every crack of his personal life would culminate in Acrostico with an ode to mother's love, far removed from the urban rhythms and pullas to which he had accustomed us lately.

The song, supposedly dedicated to Milan and Sasha, will be Shakira's first solo work since Don't Wait Up, published in 2021 and which did not have as much impact as subsequent songs. In 2022 – a fateful year on the emotional level – he sneaked into the top of the charts with Te Felicito, his single with Rauw Alejandro, and Monotonía, where he shared the limelight with Ozuna.

Looking ahead to the release of her twelfth studio album, Shakira may have decided to extinguish the embers left by the incendiary lyrics. A little respite never hurts.
