Initiated by Renaissance MP Stéphanie Rist, this bill definitively adopted by Parliament on Wednesday, aims to facilitate access to care by unbottled GP practices. Who is concerned and how will access to care be organised? Europe 1 takes stock.

DECRYPTION

Parliament definitively adopted this Wednesday a Macronist bill for direct access to certain nurses, physiotherapists and speech therapists, without going through the attending physician. The text obtained almost unanimity in the National Assembly - 226 votes to 1 - after a favorable vote of the Senate the day before. Thanks to this, patients will no longer need to go through the "attending physicians" box to consult physiotherapists, speech therapists or advanced practice nurses - who intervene on certain chronic diseases. Without a prescription, patients will, for example, be entitled to eight sessions of physiotherapy.

More ease, but under conditions

However, this direct access will be limited to caregivers who work in structures such as multi-professional health homes, in coordination with doctors. This does not concern professionals installed alone in private practice. In addition, the Rist law expands the skills of pharmacists, who will be able to renew treatment prescriptions for chronic pathologies, within the limit of three months and if the attending physician is not available.

Finally, if you wear glasses, be aware that opticians can adapt a prescription for contact lenses, or corrective lenses if necessary, with the written agreement of the ophthalmologist.
