On the 7th, a reporter from Chinanews.com saw at the site of the collapse plugging operation that the rescue vehicles transporting stones on the river embankment shuttled back and forth, rolling up a burst of dust. Construction crews manipulated excavators and bulldozers to push large rocks into the breach. During the collapse plugging operation, a train horn passes from time to time.

The river embankment breach is under the Beijing-Kowloon Line railway bridge in Fengcheng. The Beijing-Kowloon Railway is a railway artery running through the north and south of China, and the traffic flow is very dense.

Member of the expert group of the Office of the General Headquarters for Flood Control and Drought Control of China, Department of Science and Technology of the Second Engineering Bureau of China ANE. Qi Jianfei said in an interview with Chinanews.com at the scene that the rescue personnel carried out blocking operations from the upstream and downstream working faces, of which the upstream operation was mainly to strengthen the foundation of the pier to ensure the safety of the Beijing-Kowloon Line railway bridge.

China Railway Nanchang Bureau Group Co., Ltd. introduced that in order to ensure the safety of the operation of the Beijing-Kowloon Railway, the railway department adopted speed limit measures for the line section, organized emergency personnel to rush to the scene, and used wire cages to fill the railway bridge cone punching empty and other methods. At present, the Beijing-Kowloon Railway is running safely and smoothly. In the next step, the railway department will strengthen the inspection and maintenance of the section of the line.

According to the official report of Fengcheng City, as of 7:10 on the 30th, the reinforcement of the conical slope of the Beijing-Kowloon Line railway abutment has been basically completed, and the water level has decreased, and the railway roadbed is no longer washed and the operation of the railway bridge is no longer affected.

In addition to the safety of the Beijing-Kowloon Railway, the narrow road on site is also a difficult point in this breach and plugging operation. Qi Jianfei said that the road is too narrow, and emergency personnel must build a platform to ensure the smooth progress of the blocking operation.

Walking on the river embankment, it can be seen that the water level on both sides of the embankment has dropped significantly, the farmland at the breach has receded, and many surrounding villagers are busy cleaning houses or drying flooded items.

Xiong Haihua, a villager near the breach of the embankment, and his wife were cleaning up the flooded items on the first floor, and the traces of the river invasion on the outer wall of the house were clearly visible. ”

At present, the water level of 1000,220 mu of flooded farmland and four affected villages in Fengcheng, Jiangxi Province, has all receded and returned to its pre-disaster state.
