【Commentary】The maiden voyage ceremony of Pazhou Hong Kong and Macao Ferry Terminal was held in Guangzhou on May 5. At about 4:10 a.m. that day, the carbon fiber high-speed passenger ship "Haizhu Lake" set sail with its horn and slowly sailed offshore, marking the official operation of the only cross-border port on the water in the central area of Guangzhou.
Speaking via video at the maiden voyage ceremony, the Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) Mr John Lee Ka-chiu said that the official opening of the high-speed water passenger route connecting downtown Guangzhou and the central centre of Hong Kong will become a new cross-border water service in the iconic Greater Bay Area.

【Commentary】Pazhou Hong Kong and Macao Ferry Terminal is constructed in two phases, the first phase of which will open two routes between Pazhou Hong Kong and Macau Ferry Terminal and Hong Kong International Airport (Haitian Terminal), and put into operation of "Haizhu Lake" and "Haizhu Bay" carbon fiber high-speed passenger ships, the whole journey will take about two hours, which will further shorten the travel time of the central cities of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and accelerate the construction of a modern comprehensive transportation system in the Greater Bay Area.
