Coinciding with the long holidays, an event was held at the fishing port of Wakayama City where visitors could taste rice bowls made with plenty of local seafood.

This event, called the "Don Festival," is held every year at Wakaura Fishing Port in Wakayama City to coincide with the long holidays.

The bowls and tempura made with the famous "shirasu" from the local Wakaura were popular, and there was a line as soon as the venue opened.

In addition, about 30 kinds of donburi, including tuna bowls caught in Nachikatsuura Town, were prepared, and visitors were able to taste fresh seafood.

A man from Hashimoto City, Wakayama Prefecture, who was eating a shirasu bowl, said, "This is delicious. It's lively and exciting."

Mr. Yumasa Sawaguchi, the company that manages the fishing port, who hosted the event, said, "We have a lot of delicious bowls, so please eat them and enjoy walking nearby."

The Bowl Festival is open until 4 p.m. on April 30 and from 2 a.m. to 5 p.m. from May 3 to 7.
