"I want a chick with big tits", "It's itching on the dick" and "Runkeball" are classic lines from Eddie Meduza – the uncrowned king of sex rock. Today's epadunk has clear ties to 80s gender rock – with sex and filling as supporting themes.

When Erik Norstedt wanted to carry on his father Errol Norstedt's legacy, it felt natural to take the stage name Erik Meduza – even though his lyrics are prettier than his father's.

"It's not that I have anything against filth. But it becomes lazy if you use it too much, I think it becomes oversaturated when people sing luder, bira, pussy. Then maybe I want to hit a little more mainstream. I know how it went for my dad, he didn't get his Grammy," he says with a laugh.

Was without a grammy

Although Eddie Meduza was a multifaceted artist, who also wrote dansband-scented Swedish top songs, he never received any real recognition. He sings about this in the song "Jag vill ha en grammis".

Erik Meduza's sound has more in common with EDM and 00's artists like Basshunter than Eddie Meduza. On the Warner label, he recently released the single "Salt". More releases are expected during the spring and he has previously collaborated with artists such as Rasmus Gozzi and 250 kg love.

Erik was barely four years old when his father died in 2002 and has grown up in Stockholm's inner city – far from the center of raggar culture. He has never had an EPA and does not have a driver's license.

How much raggar culture are you?

"I'm pretty much a raggar culture. It's often that I'm out and about with people. Every summer, my mother and I have gone to the big car meets. So I've had it with me anyway, even though I grew up in Stockholm," he says.
