The government will issue commemorative coins for the "Osaka-Kansai Expo" to be held in 2025, and the design of the 1000,<> yen silver coin to be issued as the first step has been announced.

The Osaka-Kansai Expo will be held in Yumeshima, Osaka City from April 2025.

To commemorate the event, the government decided to issue about five types of commemorative coins in three installments, and on the 4th, the design of a silver coin with a face value of 3,5 yen was announced as the first step.

On the obverse of the silver coin, the official logo of the "Osaka-Kansai Expo", which consists of more than 10 red spheres bouncing in the shape of a ring, is drawn along with the Yumeshima venue of the Expo.

In addition, the official logo mark is drawn on the reverse side, and it is processed so that when the groove engraved on the silver coin shines in the light, it looks iridescent.

The selling price of this silver coin is 1,3800 yen including tax, and 5,8 pieces will be issued.

Commemorative coins will be sold by mail order by the Mint, and applications will be accepted for about three weeks from August 8.
