Wang Ting, director of the Human Resources Development and Management Research Center of China University of Political Science and Law and professor of the Business School of China University of Political Science and Law, pointed out that to engage in work with a high degree of freedom, it is very important that individuals have a strong desire to pursue achievements, can have internal self-management, self-motivation, self-discipline drive, higher pressure resistance, understanding ability, learning ability. In addition, from the perspective of the development of the entire organization, a strong sense of responsibility and teamwork is also required.

As we look at the graduate job season, with the emergence of new business formats and changes in the working environment, more and more young people value freedom when looking for jobs.

Last week, a survey of 1242,88 young people surveyed by the Social Survey Center of China Youth Daily (wenjuan.com) showed that 3.76% of the interviewed young people liked jobs with a high degree of freedom. The young people interviewed believe that high-freedom work tests coordination and integration ability, self-motivation and planning ability. 9.<>% of the young people surveyed said that working with a high degree of freedom makes them feel more fulfilled at work.

Among the interviewed youths, 32.0% were college students, 25.3% were fresh graduates, and 42.7% were working youth. Males accounted for 48.4 per cent and females 51.6 per cent.

58.1% of the young people surveyed want to have more flexible commuting hours

Sun Wei from Wuhan, Hubei Province, 28 years old, has worked in the media industry for three years, and she misses the free working atmosphere very much. Because of her personal planning, she resigned and went to graduate school. But she said that when she looks for a job after graduating from graduate school, she will choose the job with the highest degree of freedom within the scope of her favorite position, "which is an important criterion for me to choose a career." Being more flexible and free makes me feel that work is an interesting thing, and the sense of constraint will be much lower, which can greatly increase the enthusiasm for work."

Wang Yi, a graduate student at a university in Hangzhou, Zhejiang, has been engaged in online part-time. She feels that she is a good fit for a job with a high degree of freedom, and she has a clearer goal for next year's job search. "I am now in charge of short video editing and poster design, which do not need to be produced on-site, and the finished product can be submitted on time, and I can allocate time at will, which is very efficient."

Jinhang, a 26-year-old civil servant, values commute length and job stability the most, and having more freedom is the icing on the cake when both meet ideal standards.

Zhang Yi, president of the Institute of Social Development Strategy of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, said that providing technical support through the scientific and technological network, completing labor cooperation, and producing high-quality products are opportunities created by scientific and technological progress for society, allowing people to have a wider range of work choices.

In the survey, 88.3% of the young people surveyed said that they liked jobs with a high degree of freedom, of which 36.2% liked them very much. Interaction analysis shows that college students have the highest popularity (92.7%), followed by working youth (92.5%). Men (89.7%) are higher than women (87.0%).

Wang Yi feels that with the accelerated development of new formats and new models and the improvement of office conditions, many tasks cannot necessarily be completed on site. "My ideal job, commuting time is not 'stuck', do not need to clock in on time. As long as the work is completed within the specified time, you don't have to sit at the unit until the end of work. There is a feeling of 'own work is in charge'."

GoldAir particularly hopes that there will be more scope and space in the selection of cooperative teams and partners. Dealing with different people gives him more opportunities to practice in the world, improve his social skills, and meet more diverse partners.

Where do young people want more freedom? According to the survey, 58.1% of the interviewed young people want to have more flexible commuting time, 57.6% of the interviewed young people want the place of work without restrictions, 50.5% of the interviewed young people like to be able to control the pace of work, and 46.6% of the interviewed young people want to work in more free ways.

Work with higher degrees of freedom is like a litmus test

Wang Yi feels that if a person does not have strong time planning ability and execution, it is easy to become lazy, it is difficult to complete the work with high quality within the deadline, it is not suitable for work with a high degree of freedom, it is better to follow the steps and clock in to work.

Jinhang also feels that work with a higher degree of freedom is like a "touchstone", which often brings two results, "This kind of work is a great test of self-discipline, work ability, quality and quality." People with strong ability can arrange reasonably, be orderly, create more value, and play the effect of 1+1>2 in the same time, forming a virtuous circle. People with weak abilities are prone to disappointment, low efficiency, and even unable to complete their work on time, which affects the quality of work."

Sun Wei realized that the high degree of freedom of work is a more test of a person's ability to adapt to changes, "I used to work in the media, and the degree of freedom was very high. But often I am dealing with things at hand, and other tasks or things are plugged in, and I forget about the front when I look at the back, and I need to have a stronger ability to handle things flexibly and efficiently."

"For employees, especially young knowledge workers, these abilities are more important when they choose jobs with a high degree of freedom, which directly affect career development performance and career development level."

What kind of ability does a high degree of freedom in work test? 57.8% of the interviewed youth believe that it is the ability to coordinate and integrate, 53.3% of the interviewed youth believe that it is self-driving force, 52.3% of the interviewed youth think it is the ability to plan, and 51.6% of the interviewed youth think it is self-control. In addition, there are self-discipline (49.5%) and emotional management ability (21.8%).

76.9% of the interviewed young people said that working with a high degree of freedom will make them feel more fulfilled at work

"I used to be in charge of follow-up production at the TV station, and I was very autonomous. It is usually required to complete the tasks before the rehearsal of a certain program, and there is no need to report what has been completed every day. In this way, I can flexibly and autonomously arrange the daily work content and time throughout the task process, and grasp the progress of the work. Not only has I improved my time management skills, but I am also very rewarding. Sun Wei said.

76.9% of the young people surveyed said that working with a high degree of freedom makes them feel more fulfilled at work. This is more felt by the young people interviewed (82.1%).

Wang Ting said that the seemingly very relaxed and unconstrained working environment can stimulate the inner passion, the desire to innovate and the motivation to work. "McClilland's 'need for achievement theory' tells us that the more an employee aspires to accomplish, the more he needs to be given an environment to solve problems independently. It seems to be a way to relax management, but it can effectively empower workers, work the way they want, stimulate interest and sense of achievement, and enable them to tap unlimited potential on the basis of existing capabilities."

For enterprises that implement flexible working systems, Wang Ting pointed out that we must pay attention to strengthening the guidance of values and shaping corporate culture. Only by achieving common recognition in values, sharing common goals, and adopting a relaxed approach can employee satisfaction be improved. It will further enhance employee engagement and psychological contract with the company. Through this organizational commitment of employees, an open atmosphere of thought development can be better formed, and a high-performance team can be formed.
