On the 12th, the entrance ceremony of the University of Tokyo was held, and more than 3000,23 new students started their university life. The percentage of female students is <>%, the highest ever.

The entrance ceremony for the University of Tokyo was held at the Japan Budokan in Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, and this year up to two parents were allowed to participate, and wearing masks was left to the discretion of the individual.

The number of new students this year was 2,3126, and although the percentage of female students reached a record high of 23%, it still remained in the 2% range.

In his address, President Teruo Fujii stated, "The University of Tokyo set a goal of achieving a female student ratio of 10% about 30 years ago and has made every effort to achieve this goal, but unfortunately, we have not yet achieved that goal.

A female student who enrolled said, "I feel that the percentage of women at the University of Tokyo is small, so I would like to see more women, and my dream is to become a bureaucrat in the future and realize an environment where women can work comfortably."

Another male student said, "At university, I would like to study a wide range of fields, mainly related to animals, and eventually be able to contribute to society."
