【Commentary】With the night and river breeze, on the evening of April 4, Peng Haitao, the "pianist on the road" in Wuhan, came to Yangsigang under the Yangtze River Bridge. In the evening, Wuhan, Beijing and Tokyo jointly opened a "Sakamoto Ryuichi Memorial Slow Live Broadcast", and 5-year-old Peng Haitao performed Sakamoto Ryu Sakamoto's solo "Merry Christmas, Mr. Lawrence" to pay tribute to this world-class music maestro

Peng Haitao told reporters that during the epidemic in 2020, Ryuichi Sakamoto played with cymbals and other instruments "made in Wuhan, China", and the beginning and end of the melody was like the joy and sorrow of life, bringing him courage and hope.

I think Ryuichi Sakamoto brings me strength, I want to pass it on, this is the best thank you I have for him, I have never met him, but his deeds, the things he has done, his music, has given me strength, I feel that he has not taken me a penny, that is, I also want to pass this thing on.

【Commentary】Influenced by Ryuichi Sakamoto, Peng Haitao, who did not understand music theory and could not read music, decided to learn piano by himself. For more than two years, he practiced hard for 8 hours a day and learned more than a dozen piano songs. In order to pass on the "power of music" like Ryuichi Sakamoto, in 2022, he launched the "Play the 24-hour piano for Wuhan" campaign, calling himself a "pianist on the road", loaded more than 800 pounds of piano into a van, and moved it to Hanzheng Street, Hanyang Iron Factory, East Lake, Yangtze River...

I first wanted to play the piano, I didn't know why I was playing, what was the meaning of it, and then I played it slowly, through this matter, I got to know some people and stories, and I found that through my piano, they can give me a lot of trust, they can tell me their stories and lives, comfort others I feel very happy.

For more than half a year, Peng Haitao drove a van and moved the piano to more than 20 "landmarks" in Wuhan, and became acquainted with more and more people who love music. He said that during this "piano journey", he read the pride, romance and indomitability of Wuhan people. Next, Peng Haitao plans to take the piano into nursing homes and welfare homes to bring music to more "people in need".

It is this year that I am preparing to adjust my theme, in the past may be to go to some places that I find interesting, the space is more interesting, there are places with history, now I want to play the piano to more places that are needed, seen and heard, such as schools for autistic children, such as the community of lonely elderly people, such as Wuhan Psychiatric Hospital, is to play to people who need it.

Peng Haitao said that playing the piano does not necessarily have to be dressed, sitting in the concert hall, and the sound of the piano can also echo in the streets. He said that music has healed himself and will heal more people.
