At the G5=Climate, Energy and Environment Ministers' Meeting of the seven major countries to be held ahead of the G7 Hiroshima Summit in May, it was found that coordination is being made to adopt guidelines for actions that companies should take to realize a circular economy, such as recycling and reuse.

The circular economy is an attempt to recycle and reuse resources such as metals and plastics to ensure a stable supply of resources and reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and is becoming increasingly important as the transition progresses, mainly in EU countries.

Against this backdrop, at the G4 Climate, Energy and Environment Ministers' Meeting to be held in Sapporo from April 15, we learned that in the environmental field, coordination is being made to adopt guidelines for actions that companies should take toward the realization of a circular economy.

Specifically, ▼ companies will create medium- to long-term strategies to raise awareness of overall efforts, ▼ create business models that efficiently utilize resources, such as manufacturing with recycled materials and promoting sharing services.

In addition, we would like to include specific guidelines for action, such as strengthening cooperation between different industries such as manufacturing and recycling and making effective use of resources throughout the supply chain, and accelerate efforts by the entire G7.

In addition, it is expected to create a new framework to promote corporate activities for biodiversity conservation and confirm the importance of measures against marine plastic litter.
