Along the Shiroishi River that flows from Okawara Town in Miyagi Prefecture to Shibata Town, the row of cherry blossom trees that stretches for about 8 kilometers is called "Ichimoku Senbonzakura".

During the cherry blossom viewing season, about 20,1 people visit the prefecture's most famous cherry blossom viewing spots, and this year the best time to see them was about one week earlier than usual.

At a park in Okawara Town, the "Cherry Blossom Festival," which had been canceled due to the influence of the new coronavirus, was held for the first time in four years, and visitors enjoyed cherry blossom viewing while taking walks and taking pictures.

At this time of year, JR East Japan runs at a reduced speed between Okawara Station and Funaoka Station so that you can enjoy the cherry blossoms seen from the train window.
