Ruoqiang, Xinjiang, April 4 (Zhongxin Net) -- The third Xinjiang Comprehensive Scientific Expedition (Xinjiang Scientific Expedition) Altun Mountain Field Expedition, led by the Xinjiang Branch of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) and the Xinjiang Institute of Ecology and Geography of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (Xinjiang Institute of Biological Land), set out from Ruoqiang County, Xinjiang on April 1, and 4 members of the expedition team carried 1 sets of scientific research equipment and instruments and took 35 field surgical vehicles to Altun Mountain, which will carry out comprehensive field investigation, sampling, and sampling for about 11 days. Postgraduate teaching, field practice, interdisciplinary discussion and exchange, etc.

Chen Xi, deputy leader of the third Xinjiang scientific expedition working group, person in charge of the project of building a digital platform and standard system for the scientific expedition, and secretary of the party group of the Xinjiang branch of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, said that the third Xinjiang scientific expedition is divided into five major areas: the Tarim River Basin, the Ili River Basin, the Irtysh River Basin, the Tianshan North Slope Economic Belt and the Tuha Basin, and the overall goal is to put forward Xinjiang's future ecological construction and green development strategy and road map.

Professor Chen Xi is responsible for the construction of the big data platform for comprehensive scientific investigation in Xinjiang. He said that the main contents of the project include the construction of an integrated air-space-ground Internet of Things monitoring system covering Xinjiang and surrounding areas, supplementing and improving the resource and environmental monitoring network in uninhabited areas; Establish data standards for comprehensive scientific expeditions in Xinjiang and build a data sharing platform for scientific expeditions; Establish a platform for the collection and conservation of biological resources in the arid region of Xinjiang to achieve effective conservation of biodiversity and sustainable use of biological resources; Research and development of Xinjiang's resource and ecological environment big data decision support system to support Xinjiang's green and high-quality development.

At this stage, the construction of Xinjiang's scientific research big data platform has four key tasks: air-space-ground integrated comprehensive scientific research monitoring system, scientific research big data sharing platform, biological resources collection and conservation platform in arid areas, and Xinjiang resources and ecological environment big data decision support. Among them, the construction of air-space-ground integrated comprehensive scientific research monitoring system includes ground field fixed-point monitoring system, air-space-ground integrated monitoring system, UAV and satellite remote sensing monitoring system.

Liu Tie, a researcher at the Xinjiang Institute of Biological Land of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, revealed that the Xinjiang scientific expedition big data platform team mainly set up five tasks for this Altunshan scientific expedition: first, water quality monitoring, sampling from rivers and lakes, and physical and chemical indicators such as salinity, eight major ions, chemical oxygen demand (COD) and other physical and chemical indicators measured by the analysis and laboratory center to reveal the spatial variation characteristics of regional water quality; The second is to use the Doppler flow meter to measure the river flow rate and estimate the instantaneous flow rate of the river; The third is to use grassland flying drones to estimate the size of wild animal populations and monitor changes in wildlife habitats; The fourth is to use the conductivity meter to measure the groundwater level and estimate the recharge of groundwater to the river; Fifth, in the grassland sampling area, observe vegetation and soil related parameters.

It is understood that as one of the four major uninhabited areas in China, the Altun Mountain Range is located in the southeast of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region and is the boundary mountain of the Tarim Basin and the Qaidam Basin. Established in 1983, the Altun Mountain National Nature Reserve is located in Ruoqiang County, Bayingolin Mongol Autonomous Prefecture, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, adjacent to Qinghai and Tibet, with an area of 4,5 square kilometers and an average altitude of more than 4600,<> meters. Altun Mountain National Nature Reserve is remote, cold and oxygen-deficient, so that the reserve retains China's unique and rare wildlife, enjoys the international reputation of "one of the few biogeographic provinces in the world, is a rare plateau species gene bank", was included in the list of "Encyclopedia Britannica", and was listed in the priority protection list of the "China Biodiversity Conservation Action Plan" by China.
