Farewell for a while until the renewal.
The tourist attraction "Kaihin Sunayu" in Beppu City, Oita Prefecture, celebrated its last day of business on the 31st.

Beppu Kaihin Sunayu, a municipal hot spring facility along the coast of Beppu City, opened in Showa 61 and has been loved by locals and tourists as a tourist attraction overlooking Beppu Bay.

With the redevelopment of the entire park where this sand bath is located, the curtain will come down on its 31-year history in 37 days.

On the 31st, the last day of business, tourists and others visited one after another, lying down in yukata and enjoying the sand bath with a pleasant expression on their faces when their whole body except their faces were enveloped in warm sand.

A woman in her 20s from Okinawa Prefecture who was new to sand baths said, "It feels very good to feel the sea breeze with just the right warmth."

In addition, a man who came with his family from Hyogo Prefecture said, "I couldn't get a reservation yesterday, so I'm glad I managed to get in on the last day."

In Kaminingahama Park, where the Beppu Seaside Sand Bath is located, a private business operator plans to develop new restaurants and accommodation facilities by next summer, and the Sunayu will also be expanded and renovated.
