Jilin, 3 Mar (Zhongxin Net) -- Liu Junduan, a 30-year-old criminal police officer, sat in the interrogation room, leaning forward and typing sign language with a serious expression. Its gestures are sonorous and powerful, supplemented by body movements to express "sternness". For him, sign language is not only a "language", but also a "tool" used to solve cases.

Liu Jun is currently the leader of the investigation team of the Criminal Investigation Detachment of the Jilin Public Security Bureau. In the public security system, he is one of the few interrogation professionals for deaf and mute criminal suspects, and has also been selected into the interrogation talent pool of the Criminal Investigation Bureau of the Ministry of Public Security. Because of his special skill, he has been supporting cases all over the country for many years, fighting against the suspected illegal and criminal activities of all kinds of deaf and mute people.

The main role of sign language is communication, and "interrogation" is to let the suspect explain the case, Liu Jun needs to cooperate with many expressions, body movements, on the scene reaction, physical strength is a great test. "My duty is to get deaf suspects to 'speak.'"

Liu Jun said that sign language will only be proficient in long-term communication and use, otherwise it is easy to forget.

As a grassroots cadre of the Jilin Municipal Public Security Bureau, Liu Jun once took the initiative to train his colleagues. However, in everyday life, only he is the one who has the means to use sign language for a long time. "I will practice with deaf relatives and friends, so there will be some 'advantages' when working."

In the past 10 years, Liu Jun has supported the cracking of the Sichuan Guangyuan criminal case of abducting and manipulating the deaf and mute gang; theft by the Yinchuan Deaf and Dumb Gang in Ningxia; Shaanxi Baoji night running female teacher murdered. In the interrogation room, he used sign language to get the transcript, so that the case could be solved quickly.

In recent years, with the continuous introduction of official policies such as caring for the disabled, and the continuous crackdown on various illegal crimes, deaf-mute crimes are gradually decreasing. But there are still deaf suspects engaged in telecommunications fraud – and crime has also moved from "offline" to "online".

"My job is adapting to this change." Liu Jun said that telecommunications fraud is a new type of illegal crime with high incidence at present, and some deaf and dumb people learn computer and other skills to provide technical support for others to commit crimes. In order to solve the case and express professional terms more accurately, he often pondered the characteristics of such crimes and continued to refine sign language.

Due to his long-term business trip to handle cases, Liu Jun also passed on the skill of sign language interrogation to his counterparts in other places. "Our duties are no different, we are all about protecting the safety of one side." Liu Jun said. (End)
