A temporary store that the city has been developing on the site of a burnt store has been completed at the Tange Market, which is popular as a citizen's kitchen in Kitakyushu City and was burned down twice last year. It will be named "Dan Too Blue Sky Market" and will start operating sequentially from April.

A total of 4 stores were burned in large-scale fires in April and August last year.

Kitakyushu City proceeded with the construction of temporary stores on the site, and a tenement building named "Tan Too Open Sky Market" was completed on the 8th.

One store is approximately 87 square meters in size, and there are also four slightly larger stores for food and beverage outlets.

In addition, in response to the two fires, we have strengthened fire prevention measures, used non-flammable materials for the building, and installed fire notification devices at three locations that automatically notify the fire department of the occurrence of a fire.

So far, 2 food-related stores are scheduled to move in, and they will start operations sequentially from April.

Tomohiro Yoshino, the manager of the dried fish store, which was damaged by the fire in August last year and plans to move into a temporary store, said, "Until now, we have been doing business in outdoor tents, but we would like to do our best again in the temporary store."

Naotsugu Kusano, manager of the Kantake River Tange District Maintenance Office in Kitakyushu City, said, "There are places that have been waiting to reopen after the fire, so we hope that it will create a lively atmosphere."
