In an interview that will be broadcast on April 6 on ABC, American actor Jeremy Renner speaks for the first time about the serious accident he experienced in early January. The American channel has for the moment broadcast a trailer, in which the actor of "Avengers" returns to the circumstances of the drama.

A miracle. American actor Jeremy Renner, known for his role as Hawkeye in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, has given his first interview since the terrible accident he experienced last January, in which he almost lost his life. If this exclusive interview will only be broadcast on April 6 on ABC, the channel has already published a first trailer, which allows us to learn a little more about the circumstances of the drama and the state of health of the actor.

"If I had to do it again, I would do it again"

And he seems to be doing much better. In the excerpt presented, Jeremy Renner appears rather fit, in black sweater and beige shorts. In front of the American journalist Diane Sawyer, he returns to this terrible groomer accident that occurred on January 1st. As the actor took out his snowplow - a machine weighing nearly seven tons - from his garage, he realized that the emergency braking system did not work, and that the device slipped towards his nephew. The actor of Avengers rushes to interpose, but the machine rolls on him.

"If I had to do it again, I'd do it again because it was heading straight for my nephew," says Jeremy Renner in the trailer. For his part, his nephew remembers "seeing him, his head in a pool of blood. I rushed to him, but I didn't think he was alive...", says the young man.

Thirty broken bones

"Broken ribs", "broken right ankle and knee", "perforated liver"... During the interview, the presenter Diane Sawyer returns to all the injuries suffered by the actor, who was then hospitalized for many weeks. On the verge of tears, Jeremy Renner remembers saying "I'm sorry" in sign language to his family from his hospital bed. Before adding: "I chose to survive. That's not going to kill me. When I look in the mirror, I see a lucky man," he concludes in the excerpt.

A few days after the broadcast of this exclusive interview, the actor should make his first public appearance since his accident, on the occasion of the release of the documentary series Rennervations on the Disney+ platform.
