As the two-month-old protests in Israel against the judicial amendments reached their peak, Arab tweeters continued to react to the event, some of whom saw it as a subject of ridicule and tenderness, while others did not hide their hopes that these events would be the beginning of the end of the occupation entity.

Tens of thousands of Israelis gathered in major cities after Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu sacked Defense Minister Yoav Galant from office, and protesters blocked the main roads linking Tel Aviv neighborhoods to the road linking Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.

Thousands of protesters took to the streets on Sunday in Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, Haifa and other cities immediately after announcing the dismissal of Defense Minister Yoav Galant, after he called on the government to freeze its plan to overhaul the justice system, which has caused great division among Israelis.

The protesters believe that Netanyahu wants – through the judicial reform law he seeks to pass – to restrict the role of the Supreme Court in overseeing laws issued by the Knesset, which means his control over the judiciary, so that it is a tool in the hands of the government and the ruling party or coalition.

The Shabakat program (2023/3/27) monitored part of the comments of Israeli demonstrators who saw in the amendments what clearly contradicts the principle of democracy, and that once these amendments are approved, the state with all its organs will work in the interest of politicians.

On the other hand, the hard right supports Netanyahu and his amendments, and this reflects the statements of the leader of the Zionist party, Bezalel Smotrich, who considered any retreat from this "acquiescence to the anarchists," as he put it.

For his part, Public Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir called for the reform of the judicial system not to stop and not to give in to what he called chaos.

Israel Collapses

On the other hand, Arab tweeters reacted to these events, including what Saddam wrote, who tweeted: "We are facing historical events, Israel is collapsing!!! Major demonstrations and serious divisions plaguing the Israeli army, scenes from Tel Aviv seem disastrous in every sense of the word. Are we witnessing at this moment the collapse of Israel?"

While Maya saw that "it seems that Netanyahu and his government are on a date with a Hebrew spring that will tip the scales of the most enduring politician in power among Israeli prime ministers," Ashraf tweeted that "Netanyahu decided to expel the defense minister, the defense minister refuses to leave his post, and entire units of the army refuse to perform service, the biggest political crisis Israel has seen in decades, headlined in bold on Hebrew websites under the title Israel is burning."

Adham Abu Salmiya said that what is happening reflects the "stupidity of the extreme right," which believes that it "did to the Zionist entity all the effects of self-collapse," adding that "since the battle of the sword of Jerusalem until now, the strongest soldier in the battle is the stupidity and arrogance of the enemy's leaders, which brought him to a point that he himself could not imagine reaching from chaos and disintegration."

Israeli opposition leader Yair Lapid said Netanyahu could fire Galant, but he could not fire those facing the madness of the ruling coalition, adding that "Netanyahu is a danger to the security of the State of Israel."
