It's time to go outside, enjoy the good weather and mark a getaway to celebrate the arrival of spring. And any of these locations that we detail below, considered the most beautiful in Spain, deserve one of those stops.

JERTE (CÁCERES)

Start the route in the Jerte Valley of Extremadura, which in spring covers its domains with the classic cherry blossoms. One of the towns that can serve as the perfect base of operations to enjoy the experience is Jerte, but also Cabezuela del Valle, Navaconcejo, Rebollar, Cabrero, El Torno or Casas del Castañar. Each one offers different activities until April 30 (although the official day of the awakening is April 3), among which are workshops and gastronomy contests (with cherries as the main protagonist, of course), hiking routes, botanical walks, bird watching, storytelling and even festivals.

SANTA EULALIA DEL RÍO (IBIZA)

If there is a destination where slow travel acquires another dimension, that is Santa Eulalia del Río, an Ibizan natural paradise that has nothing to do with the unbridled image of the Pitiusan island. Quite the opposite. In this beautiful municipality you can enjoy 46 kilometers of coastline and more than 400 hiking and cycling routes, a score of beaches, charming hotels (and restaurants), countless nautical activities (a complete guide has just been published) ... Without forgetting that this year the Multisport Triathlon World Championship Ibiza 2023 is held in spring, of which Santa Eulalia will be the scene of the duathlon and aquathlon. It should also be noted the cultural program of the municipality, which extends throughout the year with exhibitions, musical contests, festivals such as the international Family Theater Barruguet. Not surprisingly, it is one of the most demanded Ibizan destinations for traveling with children.

HOYOS DEL ESPINO (ÁVILA)

This beautiful town of Avila is one of those belonging to the north of the Sierra de Gredos that changes its horizon when spring arrives. Especially from May, when this area that also includes municipalities such as Cepeda de la Mora or Navarredonda de Gredos becomes the world capital of the piornos in bloom with the celebration of a homonymous festival. Everyone who attends will be able to enjoy more than 65,000 hectares of forest covered in yellow. Considered a humble scrub shrub, when it blooms it becomes a spectacle of nature, reaching up to 23 varieties. Not surprisingly, in Gredos Norte they offer up to 60 points to make the landscape visible in the best way.

VERA (ALMERÍA)

Here is another perfect destination to disconnect from the routine in spring looking at the sea: Vera, on the Almeria coast, 92 kilometers north of the capital of the province. Not only has it been (and is) a balcony to the Mediterranean since time immemorial, but it has a good handful of attractions for a getaway of 10: six kilometers of beaches with crystal clear waters, more than 300 days of sunshine a year, an average temperature of 18 degrees, possibility of practicing all kinds of sports (from golf to horse riding, paddle-surfing, kayaking, hiking, tennis, sailing, cycling...), etc. In addition, Vera is considered the Spanish capital of nudism and the first naturist enclave in Europe. You also have to know the Plaza Mayor, the bullring, the Nasrid city of Bayra, the fountain of the Cuatro Caños and the lagoon of the Antas River.

EZCARAY (LA RIOJA)

Another place in the Peninsula where spring shows its best face is in Ezcaray, located in the Oja Valley, about 60 kilometers from Logroño, already in La Rioja Alta. There, time seems to have stopped between the medieval alleys and the half-timbered facades of the noble houses. For something, it is officially considered not only one of the most beautiful villages in La Rioja, but also the "first tourist village" in the region. The gastronomy of the area also adds attractions to this town of just 2,000 inhabitants, offering taverns with plots, pinchos bars and restaurants with two Michelin stars such as El Portal de Echaurren, commanded by the Paniego brothers. The surroundings of Ezcaray, ideal for outdoor sports in the middle of nature, are also worth a visit.
