One of the participants in the season in question is Jesper Bengtsson, who has also been in two previous rounds. He says he and several of the participants were shocked when they heard about the decision to still air the season.

"I thought, this must be a joke," he tells Culture News.

Stopped after allegations

It was in the spring of 2021 that the ongoing 14th season of the reality show "Paradise hotel" was stopped when two women accused a male participant of sexual assault. A preliminary investigation was set up by the police but was later dropped.

When the matter came to light, the next season was already recorded, but the television company Nent chose to close down this as well and instead invested in the new concept "Paradise" and more focus on contemporary values.

Expressed dissatisfaction – "Feeling empathy"

Now the season is broadcast anyway and shown by the free service Pluto TV, which stirred up emotions among the participants of the season in question. In Expressen, several of the participants have expressed themselves anonymously that they, among other things, feel overtaken by and have put the program behind them.

Jesper Bengtsson understands the participants who have expressed dissatisfaction.

" I think it's sad for those participants who have chosen to take a different path in life who no longer view this type of participation positively. And for these people, of course, I feel empathy," says Jesper Bengtsson.

Bengtsson, who has previously participated in 2019 and 2021, sees it as positive that the season is now shown.

"For my part, it feels relatively good, in this season that is being shown now, I get the opportunity to show another side of myself that has not been shown before. An incredible amount has happened since two and a half years back.
