At the city hall in Toyoaki City, Aichi Prefecture, a trial initiative was being conducted to allow employees to bring their children to work, and staff members were seen taking care of their children while working for 20 days.

Toyoaki City Hall is piloting an initiative called "Work with Child" that allows children from 6 to 1rd grade of elementary school to go to work for one month from the 0th of this month.

So far, seven staff members have used the service, and on the 3th, a female staff member working in the School Education Division went to work with her second-grade elementary school child from 7:20 p.m.

The city did not set up a daycare center, and the staff had to take care of them themselves, and the female staff members usually did their work in the same room as the children sitting next to them while doing their homework.

Based on this trial implementation, Toyoaki City Hall will conduct a questionnaire for all employees and aim for full-scale introduction.

Ai Morita, chief of the school education section, who went to work with her child, said, "At first, I was worried that they would keep quiet, but it was very nice to be able to work while checking what they were doing rather than leaving their children alone."

Kiyoko Matsumura, manager of the Toyoaki City Childcare Support Division, said, "We would like to use diverse work styles, such as bringing children to work, to increase the momentum for watching over children in the community."
