Nanping, March 3 (Zhongxin Net) -- An extremely rare family of eight yellow-bellied horned pheasants was recently rediscovered on the top of Ouli Mountain in Jianjian, Fujian Province, with three males and five females, and is currently entering the breeding season.

Through photo analysis, the scientific and technological personnel of the Fifth Procuratorate Department of the Jianou Municipal Procuratorate, the Fujian Forestry Bureau and other relevant departments confirmed that the population of Yellow-bellied Horned Pheasant still exists in Jianou City, and with the continuous improvement of the natural ecological situation, the population and number of Yellow-bellied Horned Pheasant are expanding.

Relevant people said that the discovery of the large population of Lishan yellow-bellied horned pheasant in Xiaoqiao Township, Jianou City, is a powerful example of the results of ecological environment change and animal protection in Fujian Province, and has also made this remote mountain village famous and attracted much attention from the outside world.

The yellow-bellied horned pheasant is a unique endangered pheasant in China, a national first-class key wild protected animal, which is currently sporadic in Fujian, Guangdong, Jiangxi, Zhejiang and other places, enjoying the reputation of birds "giant pandas". They inhabit dense forests with mixed subtropical broad-leaved and coniferous leaves at altitudes of 800 to 2160 meters, with extremely high living environment requirements and low reproductive rates.
