At tourist facilities in Ishigaki City, Okinawa Prefecture, the "Hihoneysuckle" with emerald green flowers like the jewel "Hisui" is in full bloom.

"Honeysuckle" is a plant of the legume family native to the Philippines and is named for its emerald green flowers like the gem "hisui" in bunches hanging from vine-like branches.

At the tourist facility "Ishigaki Island Science Garden" in Kabira, Ishigaki City, the best time to see it has been since the end of last month, about one month later than usual.

Tourists and locals enjoyed the shades, taking pictures with their smartphones and picking up petals that fell to the ground.

In addition, wild birds were seen perching on flowers and seeking sweet nectar.

Visitors said, "I think it's really beautiful with bright colors," and "It's nice to see flowers in full bloom because flowers of this color are rare."

Ishigaki City's "Hihoneysuckle" is expected to be enjoyed until the middle of next month.
