Roberto Brasero has a very own way of counting the forecasts that makes him stand out from the rest and that has led him to be considered "the man of the weather". However, while Brasero tries to move weather information into the future thanks to the help of technology, debates about stereotypical images of women in its sector take us back to the past. A controversy that for years has not found a solution.

The presenter of Antena 3 has participated in the conference 'Men and women of time and digital journalism', which was held in Huesca within the programming of the Congress of Journalism. He has focused his presentation on the challenges they face with new technologies. But it has met with an unexpected change of subject when very critical voices have been raised from the public about the prototype of meteorologists on television.

While some spectators in the audience have reproached their chain for echoing an image of a woman size XXS, which should have already been overcome, Brasero has stressed that all her colleagues have the requirements to do this work since they have studied and finished their career.

"

I share the need to eliminate vase women, but I disagree as to the fact that my colleagues are, "said the presenter. "I don't think my colleagues are vase women," she said. Influenced perhaps by the very closed pace of the conference or by the lack of desire to feed the controversy, Brasero has proposed a future conference on this debate.

Another controversial issue during the presentation has had as its center the rise of weather forecasts that are not based on scientific procedures. Roberto Brasero has assured in the conference that "you can not compare the cabins with a computer of the Aemet. The weather information of the cabins has no place." In this sense, he stressed that veracity is key for people to have the correct information to carry out their day-to-day plans. "The climate ends up conditioning everything because it is the scenario in which life takes place," says the presenter, adding: "What it causes ends up having an impact on society."

The meteorologist has emphasized that it is necessary to seek rigor and veracity so that the user perceives the value he demands. In this new scenario, the digitalization process is fundamental. In recent years, forecasting has improved thanks to data collected with satellites, the ease of sharing them over the Internet and the recorded accuracy of the atmosphere.

This has caused results to be achieved that are even more adjusted to the reality of the forecasts and "the forecast will be increasingly broad thanks to technology" said Brasero, before presenting the future computer of the Aemet that will handle a large amount of data.

In addition, he highlighted the role of the person in front of applications, to go hand in hand with technology without eliminating the professional contribution that generates added value.
