After the status of the new coronavirus in the Infectious Diseases Act was shifted to Class 5, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government has compiled a policy based on the national policy to make patients bear the costs of examinations and outpatient care, which are currently free.

On the 16th, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government held a monitoring meeting to analyze and evaluate the infection status and medical care provision system in Tokyo, and presented the Tokyo Metropolitan Government's measures based on the national policy regarding the burden of medical expenses and the medical care provision system after the position of the new coronavirus in the Infectious Diseases Act shifted to Class 5.

Among the medical expenses that are currently covered by public funds and are free of charge, the cost of testing and outpatient care after a positive test is found to be borne by the patient.

The experts in attendance pointed out that "it is necessary to support medical institutions so that a wide range of medical institutions can treat patients with the new coronavirus in order to transition to Class 5."

On the other hand, at the meeting, the infection situation in Tokyo and the alert level of the medical care provision system were both maintained second from the bottom.

After the meeting, Governor Koike stated, "We will continue our efforts to protect high-risk people, such as the operation of facilities for the elderly and pregnant women, and we will proceed in stages by compiling concrete plans so as not to cause anxiety among Tokyo residents and confusion in the medical field."

Even after the transition to Class 5, about 7% "wear a mask"

In a questionnaire survey of Tokyo residents conducted by the Tokyo Center for Infectious Disease Control, it was found that about 5% of all people want to wear masks even after the status of the new coronavirus in the Infectious Diseases Act has shifted to "Class 7".

The Tokyo Center for Infectious Disease Control conducted an online questionnaire survey of approximately 20,70 people in their 1s to 16s last month to investigate the awareness of Tokyo residents regarding measures against the spread of the new coronavirus, and announced the results at a monitoring meeting of the Tokyo Metropolitan Government on the 5th.

As a result, even after the status of the new coronavirus under the Infectious Diseases Act shifted to "Class 8" on May 5, 71.3% of all respondents answered that they would "wear a mask."

In addition to health measures such as "to
prevent infection," the reasons cited were "because people are worried about people's eyes"
and "because people around me are wearing them."

On the other hand, regarding infection control measures that they think should be stopped,
▽ "wearing masks during classes at elementary and junior high schools" was 36.9
%, "silent eating" was 35.0%,
and "installation of partitions such as acrylic boards in restaurants" was 29.1%.

Governor Koike said, "Everyone is very cautious after experiencing the corona disaster, and I hope that you will encourage people to put masks in their pockets in case they are necessary."
