According to the analysis of meteorological experts from Henan Meteorological Bureau, this round of snowfall in Henan is mainly caused by the combination of cold air from the lower southbound and strong warm and humid air flow from the south. On the 15th, the cold air went south and caused the temperature to drop sharply, forming a cold air cushion near the ground, and the abundant water vapor carried by the strong southerly warm and humid air flow climbed rapidly on the cold pad, condensation or condensation, and then fell to the ground, forming the snowfall in Henan. In addition, the temperature in the mountainous areas of western Henan is lower, the time of snowfall will be earlier, and the precipitation phase in the central part will gradually change from rain to sleet or snow as the temperature decreases further.

According to the monitoring of the Henan Meteorological Observatory, from 3 to 16 o'clock on March 7, moderate rain and snow occurred in some counties and cities in Sanmenxia, Luoyang, Jiaozuo, Nanyang and other places, and local heavy snowfall. The top three snowfall were Xin'an 11 mm, Lu 19.10 mm and Luanchuan 3.9 mm.

According to the data of the automatic soil moisture monitoring station network deployed by the meteorological department of Henan Province, at 3 o'clock on March 15, the proportion of 12~0 cm moisture deficiency measuring stations in Henan Province was 10%, and the forest fire risk level in Henan Province was high.
