With labor shortages becoming a serious problem in the logistics industry, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism will start working with online shopping and home delivery companies next month to call on users to reduce "redeliveries", which is a major burden on home delivery companies. We decided to work together and move forward.

In the logistics industry, labor shortages have become a serious issue, including fears of a significant decrease in transport volume as labor regulations for truck drivers become stricter from April next year.

Under these circumstances, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism has decided to focus on efforts for the next month to reduce "redelivery", which is a burden on home delivery companies.

Specifically, users will be able to specify a time zone in which they can reliably receive their parcels, use "delivery" to deliver their parcels to their doorsteps, and pick up at convenience stores and home deliveries in town. We invite you to use the box.

In cooperation with major online shopping and home delivery businesses, it is a policy to thoroughly inform users, such as by posting content requesting understanding of their efforts on their respective websites.

According to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, the percentage of parcels redelivered was 11.8% in a survey last October, and through these efforts, we hope to reduce it to 7.5% in 2025.

At a press conference after the cabinet meeting on the 14th, Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism Saito said, ``I would like the people to understand that there are things I can do as a person who sends and receives packages, and I would like the people to cooperate.''
