The NHK All-Japan Haiku Contest was held in Tokyo on the 12th to introduce excellent works submitted by haiku enthusiasts.
This tournament is held annually by NHK and NHK Gakuen.
This year, more than 35,000 haiku were submitted from all over the country, including those from overseas, and three people were selected for the grand prize.
Among them, the work by Kiran Yoshida (63) from Hokkaido, "Snow Shinshin until it becomes true white," is a haiku about when he was looking at the snow that continued to fall. ” and “snow” are written in hiragana.
Hisako Hino, 67, from Hyogo Prefecture, created a work titled "Senja-fuda attached to Kaiyoseya masts," a haiku about the scenery she saw at a boat dock on the beach in spring. The world of haiku has been greatly expanded by the above haiku.
The work by Ari Ari (49) from Hyogo Prefecture, "Summer Nights and a Thousand Plates Ringing Underground Town," is a haiku about the scene where the underground shopping mall that the author commutes by subway has regained its vitality. The expression "no plate sounds" was evaluated as a lively expression that adds a sense of realism to the sense of hearing.
The tournament will be broadcast on E-TV from 3:15 pm on April 30th.
