On March 10, the Hainan Changjiang Fire Rescue Brigade learned that there were dolphins stranded near the Haiwei Wharf in Changjiang County, and immediately organized forces to rush to the rescue.
After the rescue station staff arrived at the scene, the fire rescue personnel cooperated with the staff to transfer the injured dolphin from the shallow water area to the shore. After inspection by the staff, it was found that the dolphin was an adult Indo-Pacific bottlenose dolphin, with a body length of 2 meters and a weight of about 400 meters. There were scratch marks on the reef on his body, but no fatal wounds were found.
Rescuers cooperated with the staff of the rescue station to apply liquid medicine to the scratched area of the dolphins, and drenched the dolphins with water every two minutes to keep their bodies moist and avoid dry and dehydrated skin.
With the assistance of multiple departments, after three hours of rescue, the dolphins were transported to 10 nautical miles from the coastline and released successfully.
It is reported that Changjiang Firefighting rescued a dolphin on April 7, 2022. After a year of treatment, it was released on March 1, 2023.
