  Wanmu Forest is located in Central Asia, a transitional zone between the ancient arctic and the ancient tropics, with a complex flora and a wide variety of species, among which are the rosette ferns that appeared in the Paleozoic Era 130 million years ago; The clam shell fern found in the Jurassic strata 37 million years ago, the flora of this area has typical antiquity and complexity.

Due to long-term closed protection, the protected area has formed a stable community structure. The mid-subtropical evergreen broad-leaved forest represented by Lauraceae and Fagaceae has a complete forest appearance and rich rare tree species, such as the rare plant sight-seeing wood and Fujian-E camellia that are protected by the state. , Fujian Michelia, Shenshuizhang, Southern Taxus, etc. are distributed.

There are also a small amount of tourist trees in the forest, which are ancient relic plants unique to China.

This kind of tree has become extinct in other parts of the world, and only a few areas in southern my country miraculously survived.

The largest tree in Wanmu Forest is Shenshuizhang, which is more than 30 meters high and 1.35 meters in diameter at breast height. Its towering crown covers half of the sky like a canopy.

Many vines in Wanmulin are taller than trees, and the phenomenon of vines strangling trees can be seen everywhere.

The black spot yellow hook moth and brown horned hook moth are new discoveries in China.

The twining giant vines and strange vines is a peculiar landscape in the forest, which attracts many tourists, Chinese and foreign experts and scholars to conduct scientific investigation and research.

  In this 2,800-acre Wanmulin, the management station of Wanmulin Reserve stated that there are 161 families, 600 genera and 1,271 species of vascular plants named in the reserve, and 534 species of woody plants; there are 15 orders, 36 families and 141 species of birds. There are 963 species of forest insects in 17 orders, 112 families, and more than 500 species of medicinal plants.

Among them are the rosette ferns that appeared in the Paleozoic Era 230 million years ago, and the clam shell ferns discovered in the Jurassic strata 137 million years ago, which can be called "ancient forest museum".
