At noon, 68-year-old Yu Qingzhu was riding an electric tricycle on a rural road where the snow had not completely melted. The car was full of more than 100 couriers sent to the village from all over the country.

Although the sun at noon in early spring is warm, but when the cold wind blows in front of me occasionally, there are still some tears in the corners of the old man's eyes that are blown away by the wind.

Yu Qingzhu is a villager in Gushantun Village, Xiangyangyu Town, Arong Banner, Hulunbeier City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.

Since 2018, he has voluntarily undertaken the task of receiving and sending express delivery for villagers in his village, and he has been doing this for 5 years.

A round trip of 20 kilometers, nearly 20,000 couriers per year, and no mistakes in the past five years, what is the strength behind Yu Qingzhu's voluntary delivery of couriers for the villagers?

Yu Qingzhu told reporters that many young people in the village work outside the home, and the children are more filial, and often buy things for their families and send them home, but there is no express post in the village.

"Everyone has to go to the Honghualiangzi Express Station 10 kilometers away to pick it up. I am usually fine. Although I have a little physical problem, I can still do this kind of thing without much effort. I just want to Just be a volunteer courier." Yu Qingzhu was very proud when talking about his original intention back then.

Geng Chuanhong, the operator of Honghua Liangzi Express Station, spoke very highly of Qingzhu.

"Uncle Yu is a very kind person, selfless and dedicated, and he thinks of the folks in his heart. He is very careful. For more than 5 years, he has collected more than 50,000 express deliveries from me, and none of them have made a mistake or lost a single piece. , Whether it’s out of the warehouse or sending out the package, sign and register, be very serious.”

There are two courier stations in Honghua Liangzi. Besides Geng Chuanhong, there is also a courier station run by Jiang Chunlei.

"Don't think that Uncle Yu is obliged to send and receive couriers to the villagers, but he is always meticulous. He built a group, and everyone in the village is in the group. If there is a need, send a WeChat and he will solve it." Jiang Chunlei estimated. Every year, Yu Qingzhu collects more than 10,000 pieces of mail for the folks at his courier station.

With the growing popularity of online shopping, the number of express deliveries has increased in recent years. Yu Qingzhu's original electric car broke down, so he bought a new electric car at his own expense.

"I think this is the spirit of Lei Feng, which moves each of us very much," Jiang Chunlei said.

It is worth mentioning that Yu Qingzhu suffered from polio since he was a child, and has been unable to engage in heavy physical labor, and his legs can't bear it after walking for a long time.

He never got married and had a family. He lived on the only land rent and took care of his sick old mother until the old man died. According to his actual situation, the village included him in the five-guarantee household, and now he lives in the happiness home in the village.

"People must learn to be grateful. My current life is given by the party and the government. Since I can't do heavy physical work, the village has included me in the five-guarantee household and given me more care and warmth. I should also do my best. The ability to give back to the society and give full play to the waste heat." Yu Qingzhu said.

Every time the courier is brought back, Yu Qingzhu puts it in the store in the village, and then notifies in the WeChat group, so that the villagers can pick it up.

When encountering people who are inconvenient to travel, he will also deliver courier door-to-door to their homes.

Gao Yubin is a physically disabled person, and every time Yu Qingzhu sent his courier to his home.

"Actually, it was very difficult for him himself. Not only did he pick up and send couriers to the whole village for free, but he also delivered the packages to our homes for those with limited mobility. It really made us feel very warm."

There are still 5 households in the village who enjoy Yu Qingzhu's "special treatment" like Gao Yubin.

No matter how big or small the dedication is, every little bit gathers love.

In the past five years of voluntary express delivery, "Express Grandpa" Yu Qingzhu said frankly that he had a very happy life.

"Distant relatives are not as good as close neighbors. If you can help out, you can help. As long as I can walk and ride an electric car, I will do my best to fulfill this obligation," said Yu Qingzhu. .
