MC Alger has indicated that Patrice Beaumelle has signed a 16-month contract.
He replaces the Tunisian Faouzi Benzarti.
Patrice Beaumelle, 44, will join his new formation on Sunday March 5 and lead his first meeting on March 10 against NC Magra.
Currently third in the championship, MCA is one step behind CS Constantine.
Patrice Beaumelle does not arrive in unknown territory since he had been Hervé Renard's assistant at USM Alger in 2011. At his side, Beaumelle also won the CAN 2012 and 2015 with Zambia and the Côte d' Ivory.
After succeeding Hervé Renard as Zambia coach in 2013, Patrice Beaumelle reunited with his mentor in 2014 to become assistant coach of Côte d'Ivoire.
Morocco, then the Ivory Coast
He then followed Hervé Renard to Lille and then with the Morocco team.
In August 2019, after the departure of Hervé Renard from the Moroccan selection, Patrice Beaumelle took charge of the Moroccan Olympic selection.
He was thanked after the elimination of Morocco by Mali, in September 2019, in the race for the African Cup of Nations under 23 and the 2020 Olympics.
Appointed coach of Côte d'Ivoire in March 2020, for a period of one year,
his contract had not been renewed
following the poor performance of the Ivorian selection during the
2021 African Cup of Nations
and qualifications for the 2022 World Cup. The native of Arles had ended his adventure with Côte d'Ivoire at the Stade Vélodrome in Marseille
in a friendly match against France
on March 25, 2022 and against England at Wembley on March 29, still as a friendly.
