  Not long ago, the Department of Animal Protection of the National Forestry and Grassland Administration organized the "2023 Simultaneous Investigation of Pochard's Overwintering" to conduct a simultaneous survey of 193 distribution areas of Pochard across the country. Zhijiang Jinhu Lake in Yichang and Jijia Lake in Dangyang, Yichang Two wetlands belong to the area of ​​this survey.

  To this end, Yichang Forestry and Garden Bureau organized the city's wildlife protection station and bird-watching enthusiast service center, and conducted four observations together with the bird-watching team of Three Gorges University, Jinhu Wetland Park, and Jijiahu Wetland Management Agency , in accordance with the technical specifications of the China Bird Watching Organization Joint Action Platform (Suzaku Club), the overwintering data of Pochard ducks in two wetlands were determined.

  According to the observation results, combined with the observation data of Jinhu Wetland and Jijia Lake Wetland in the past three years, the number of Pochards overwintering in Jinhu Wetland has increased from 3 to 15. The number of pochards increased from 6 to 35.
