Fires have been raging in Tokyo since the night of the 27th, and the Tokyo Fire Department is calling for careful handling of fire.

Around 7:00 am on the 28th, a nearby person reported to the fire department that a one-story house in Nishigahara, Kita-ku, was on fire.



About 40 fire engines were dispatched, and the fire was almost extinguished in about two hours, but the fire burned nine buildings, including the house that was believed to be the source of the fire and a nearby office.



According to the Metropolitan Police Department, an elderly woman was rescued from a house believed to be the source of the fire and taken to a hospital, but she was confirmed dead soon after.



In addition, two men suffered injuries such as burns.



Police are investigating the cause of the fire.



The site is a densely populated residential area about 500 meters west of Nishigahara Station on the Tokyo Metro Namboku Line.



In Tokyo, fires broke out one after another from the night of the 27th to the dawn of the 28th, killing a total of two people in Shinjuku Ward and Higashikurume City.
