February 22nd is known as "Cat's Day" because of the sound of cats meowing.

Many people visit the shrine in Gyoda City, Saitama Prefecture, where five cats live, in search of a limited-time goshuin featuring cats.

About 10 years ago, a cat wandered into Maedama Shrine in Gyoda City, and now there are a total of five living there, and many cat lovers visit the shrine.

On the 22nd of every month, we give a goshuin with the image of one of these cats. A red seal is distributed.

The goshuin was decorated with adorable figures of two animals grooming and cuddling up, and many people wanted them.

On the 22nd, 3 of the 5 animals appeared in the precincts, and worshipers took pictures and stroked their backs.

A woman who visited from Tokyo said, "The three cats were very cute. I love cats, so I want to cherish the goshuin."

In order to avoid congestion at the shrine, we will be giving goshuin stamps dated February 22nd until the 26th of this month, as well as accepting them by mail.
