According to the Maritime Self-Defense Force, from April to September 2020, the second class sergeant had a total of 121 meals, worth about 45,000 yen, at the cafeteria in the base without paying.



In the cafeteria, due to business needs, members living inside the base could eat for free if they applied, and members living outside could eat if they applied and paid.



The 2nd Class continued to eat without paying, even though he lived off-base.



A whistleblower report revealed that the 2nd class sergeant said, "I am very sorry. I would like to receive any punishment."



On the 20th, the Maritime Self-Defense Force imposed a disciplinary action of six months suspension.
