Open the white door, and the interior of the bookstore can be seen at a glance.

This disabled-friendly bookstore called "Backlight 226" has an operating area of only 37 square meters, making it the smallest Xinhua bookstore so far. However, the small space is full of friendly designs for the visually impaired.

There is a special barrier-free reading area in the store, and a desktop electronic vision aid is placed for the visually impaired to read books. The font size of the book is high-definition and enlarged after facing the browser.

On the side is a braille printer, where readers can print a greeting card or a paragraph of greetings in braille, and customize their own content.

Our side is a non-visual cultural bookstore. We want to tell many people that everyone can experience the world and the mysteries of words through other senses besides vision.

For example, we have a lot of Braille books here, you can take a look, this book is made up of these small dots.

[Explanation] In addition to Braille books, there are also some inspirational books suitable for ordinary readers in the store, and all cultural and creative products are made by people with disabilities.

Some of these literary works are made by hearing-impaired (made by people), some are visually-impaired (made by people), or made by people with disabilities.

We hope that through our platform, more people can understand them. They are not only in need of care in society, but also hope to be recognized by society and reflect their value in this society.

[Explanation] Xiao Zhang, a clerk with vision less than 0.1, told reporters that as a visually impaired person, he is very happy to be able to work in this bookstore.

I think working here is still very warm and meaningful.

I think it is very good to have such a platform, which can give blind people more opportunities.

I am really happy to work here and have a sense of belonging. In this way, I may feel more empathetic.

[Explanation] Since the store opened two months ago, the "Backlight 226" bookstore has attracted many disabled people to buy books and communicate.

[Explanation] Talking about why the bookstore was named "Backlight 226", the store manager Qiu Qiwen said that "Backlight" means to be born against the light and walk towards the sun.

Everyone will encounter adversity in life, but I hope that everyone can still face the light in times of adversity, "As long as you face the light, you will not have a back, and you will not be in the dark."
