Before noon on the 17th, an elderly woman died in a fire that burned four houses, including a house, in Koto Ward, Tokyo.

Around 11:30 am on the 17th, the fire department was notified that there was a fire near a two-story house in Higashisuna, Koto Ward.



32 fire engines and other vehicles were sent out to extinguish the fire, and the fire was almost extinguished after about two hours, but the second floor of the house, which was believed to be the origin of the fire, burned, and part of the three adjacent houses burned. It means that



According to the Metropolitan Police Department and the Tokyo Fire Department, a woman believed to be in her 80s was rescued from the second floor of the house that was believed to be the source of the fire, but was confirmed dead on the spot.



The site is a residential area about 900 meters south of Higashi-Ojima Station on the Toei Shinjuku Line.



The Metropolitan Police Department is investigating the cause of the fire as well as confirming the identity of the woman.
