On February 15, the 2023 national tour of the dance drama "Five Stars Out of the East" was launched in Beijing.

The play will start its first tour in Beijing on February 17, then go to Urumqi and Hotan in Xinjiang to perform, and will continue to tour in many places across the country.

The concept and theme of the dance drama "Five Stars Out of the East" come from the brocade armguards of the Han Dynasty "Five Stars Out of the East benefit China", a national first-class cultural relic.

In October 1995, members of the China-Japan Niya Ruins Academic Investigation Team found a piece of brocade from the Shu region of the Han Dynasty in an ancient tomb at the Niya Ruins in Minfeng County, Hotan Prefecture. "Five stars out of the east benefit China".

Based on the precious creative resource of brocade armguards, the play tells the story of the border guards of the Han Dynasty who lived between the ancient city of Jingjue, Jiante, the son of the leader of the Northerners, and Chunjun, the daughter of the leader of the Jingjue. The story of acquaintance to deep recognition and the formation of a deep friendship interprets the theme of people of all ethnic groups "embracing each other tightly like pomegranate seeds" and forming a community of the Chinese nation.

The reporter learned from the Beijing Performing Arts Group that since its premiere in Beijing in June 2021, the show has performed more than 30 times across the country.

In 2022, the dance drama "Five Stars Out of the East" won the 16th "Five One Project" Award for Spiritual Civilization Construction and the 17th China Culture and Art Government Award Wenhua Award.

In 2023, the show will appear in the Spring Festival Gala of the Year of the Rabbit at China Central Radio and Television, and spark heated discussions on social media.
