A 28-year-old Chinese suspect was arrested for purchasing a product using a payment code that registered another person's credit card information with the smartphone payment service "au PAY".

The suspect was invited to ``buy things and make money'' on SNS, so the Metropolitan Police Department is also investigating the instructor.

He has denied some of the allegations against the investigation.

Suspect Wei Zhongbao (28), a self-employed Chinese citizen living in Edogawa-ku, Tokyo, was arrested.

Last June, using the payment code of a fictitious account registered with another person's credit card information on the smartphone payment service "au PAY", he purchased a heat-not-burn cigarette worth approximately 170,000 yen at multiple convenience stores in Nakano Ward. It is suspected of fraud.

According to the Metropolitan Police Department, another person created a fictitious account and sent the image of the payment code screen required for payment to the suspect.

The suspect was told on SNS that he could make money by buying things.

He denies some of the charges, saying, "I thought it was the account of the person who was instructed."

The Metropolitan Police Department is investigating whether five other fictitious accounts were used to illegally purchase products worth more than 1 million yen, and is also investigating the instructor.
