“An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.8 was registered on February 13 at 16:56 (08:56 Moscow time).

The epicenter was located 59 kilometers south of the uninhabited Kurile island Simushir.

The source of the earthquake was at a depth of 101 kilometers.

Earlier, the Chikurachki volcano in the Kuril Islands threw ash to a height of 4 km.
