In preparation for the "G7 Hiroshima Summit" in May this year, a suppressive training was held on the assumption that a suspicious person with a gun was stuck in a car in Tokyo, where vigilance is being strengthened.

In Nakano Ward, Tokyo, about 30 people, including riot police from the Metropolitan Police Department, participated in the training, assuming that two suspicious people had fired guns and barricaded themselves in a car around a gymnasium where many people gathered.

First, the riot police's firearm countermeasures unit rushed to the scene in bulletproof vehicles, cornered the opponent while fighting back with training guns, and confirmed a series of procedures until they were subdued.

Also, during the rescue training for the injured, the riot police evacuated the injured to a safe place while protecting themselves with bulletproof shields and handed them over to the fire department.

During the period of the G7 Hiroshima Summit in May, the Metropolitan Police Department has decided to strengthen vigilance even in areas called "soft targets" where many people gather, such as large train stations and airports, as the risk of terrorism increases. .

Masaki Mizobuchi, Security Section Chief of the Nogata Police Station, said, "I would like to continue training to realize a safe and secure summit, making the most of today's training."
