Thirty years ago, Bobby's father went to Shaoxing to start a business. Following in his footsteps, Bobby also spread the seeds of his dreams to China.

"The first stop was Yiwu. After accumulating two years of market experience, I came to Shaoxing in 2006." Bobby recalled during the interview. Although his father transferred his business to Dubai not long after, Bobby was deeply attracted by the huge Chinese market. , hope to continue to "gold rush" here, and sell Chinese good products to the world.

As an international trader, Bobby dared to think, fight, and enter the Chinese market.

Now, at the age of 46, he can speak fluent Chinese and has become an authentic "China hand".

"Every place in China has its own industrial characteristics, especially Zhejiang. I know what products and where to buy them." Bobby, who is familiar with the market, gave an example confidently. If you go to Yongkang for the thermos cup, Keqiao is of course the place to buy fabrics!"

Bobby not only builds a bridge between China and foreign trade, but is also a participant and witness of China's development and changes.

For more than 30 years, the China Textile City in Keqiao has become the largest professional cloth market in Asia. In 2022, the online and offline market transaction volume will exceed 330 billion yuan.

Because of each piece of cloth, it has attracted a large number of foreign businessmen to innovate and start businesses. What impressed Bobby the most was the earth-shaking changes.

"The textile market more than 10 years ago was not as big as it is now. Later, there were more and more types of fabrics, and more and more merchants at home and abroad." Bobby said.

Changes in cities are even more pronounced.

In order to "strive for business", Bobby set up the reception room for merchants in the core area of Keqiao City, and there are many high-rise buildings outside the window.

"In the past few years, tall buildings have sprung up outside the window, and vehicles are constantly flowing, as if watching Keqiao grow up." Bobby said frankly, "slowly, there is a sense of belonging."

In an open, inclusive, and comfortable environment, Bobby met his wife Li Xiaoxing in 2013.

"My wife is from Xi'an, Shaanxi, and she is also engaged in textile foreign trade business in Keqiao." In the merchant reception room, he pointed to a building in the distance and told reporters with a smile, "My wife works there, and distance creates beauty."

Buying a house, having a baby, earning money... Like most Chinese people, this multinational couple lives a happy life with a pair of children.

"I contracted the task of buying vegetables and cooking, and my wife was in charge of washing dishes and mopping the floor." As the "man in charge" of the family, Bobby often visits the vegetable market and knows the prices of vegetables and meat like the back of his hand.

Speaking of cooking, Bobby is full of pride.

"Chili fried meat, braised fish, steamed crab... I am very good at these Chinese dishes." In Bobby's view, Chinese food culture is diverse and influenced by the taste of his wife's hometown. "We both like sour and spicy food."

From not being able to understand Chinese to being able to speak Chinese and understand the local dialect, Bobby gradually got used to the life here, and turned the love in his heart into actions to repay his "second hometown".

Participated in blood donation of more than 2000 ml, donated masks and ventilators, joined the local "Filial Virtue Association" to help the elderly... On weekdays, Bobby and his wife often participated in public welfare activities, received many thank you letters and honorary certificates, and were also rated as " A good person in Keqiao", "I want to do more good things to help people in my hometown".

Bobby is full of confidence in life and career. He hopes to continue to "resonate with the same frequency" with China's development and harvest "the next 20 years".

"A lot of Indian customers have called in the past two days and plan to visit China in February." Talking about the future, Bobby said firmly, "We must seize every opportunity to work hard, earn money to support our families, actively participate in public welfare activities, help More people."
